Construction to Begin Soon for
Proposed Community Resource Center

A flagship project in west Baltimore, the proposed Community Resource Center on Payson Street will become a vital gathering space for area residents. Although previously planned for spring 2020, construction will be delayed until social distancing recommendations have been lifted.

An abandoned Enoch Pratt library is the site of this inspired facility, which Bon Secours purchased in 2017 from the City of Baltimore for one dollar. Developed and funded by Bon Secours’ Future Baltimore™ partnership with Kaiser Permanente and other major funders, the center will offer multi-functional spaces and innovative programming for residents of all ages in west Baltimore. With nearly 20,000 square feet, it expects to serve 3,000 children and adults annually through an array of programs, including workforce development and financial literacy initiatives. Plans also include a a gym and financial wellness center.
